Why is accessibility especially important for a care website?
Because hardly any other sector has such an affected audience. Many relatives organising care are no longer young themselves, and the people in need of care often have limited vision, motor impairments or little practice with digital devices. Around one in ten people in Germany lives with a severe disability (source: German Federal Statistical Office), and within the care audience the share is considerably higher.
An accessible website with large type, high contrast, clear paths and clean keyboard and screen-reader usability reaches exactly these people instead of unintentionally excluding them. Accessibility is thus not only a question of law or ethics, but directly a question of reaching your potential clients. Those who exclude here lose enquiries, often without even noticing it.
