DNS
Abbreviation for Domain Name System
In short and in plain language
The DNS is a directory of the internet.
It turns the names of websites into the addresses of the right servers.
Its records say where the website is hosted. They also say which server accepts email.
So when you change provider, it should be clear who may change these records.
Definition
The Domain Name System is the directory of the internet that translates domain names into the addresses of the responsible servers. Its records state where the website is hosted and which server accepts email. When changing provider, it should therefore be clear who may change these records.
